“A New Generation, a New Start” Swearing-in ceremony of the students from the “Mihai Viteazul” National Intelligence Academy – September 29, 2014

On September 29, 2014, students of the 2014-2017 class from the “Mihai Viteazul” National Intelligence Academy delivered their oath of allegiance towards the country. The moment was filled with deep emotion and solemnity for every military at the start of his/her career.

Alongside the 60 carefully and meticulously selected students for the two undergraduate programs (Psychology – Intelligence and Security Studies – Intelligence), the event was attended by representatives of the Romanian Intelligence Service leadership and of the strategic partners such as the Ministry of Defense, the National Penitentiary Administration and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, representatives of central and local units of the Romanian Intelligence Service, invited guests of the students.

While addressing the students, Lieutenant General Florian Coldea, First Deputy Director of the Romanian Intelligence Service, emphasized the need to observe the allegiance oath, “not only in its form, but also in its spirit” and encouraged them to show “determination and energy in achieving exceptional training goals”, since “in a globalized world, we need determined and competent people to protect Romania”.

Last, but not least, the students’ families received congratulations for the education and support provided to the young people in their quest to embrace a military career. After the end of the festive event, the guests were invited to a tour of the Academy, thus visiting several education and social facilities which will enable the formation and the specialization of the students as intelligence officers.
