The “Mihai Viteazul” National Intelligence Academy, in partnership with the Harvard University and with the participation of the National Intelligence University (USA) is to organize the second edition of the program “Security in the Black Sea Region. Common Challenges, Sustainable Future”
From May 24 to May 30, 2015, the Romanian Intelligence Service, represented by the “Mihai Viteazul” National Intelligence Academy, organizes the second edition of the international training program “Security in the Black Sea Region. Common Challenges, Sustainable Future” (SBSR), developed in partnership with the Harvard University and with the participation of the National Intelligence University (USA).
Held under the patronage of the Romanian Presidential Administration, SBSR takes over and develops the philosophy, mission and objectives of the Black Sea Security regional program initiated by the Harvard University 15 years ago. The current program aims at promoting the responsibility and initiative of the regional players in approaching security challenges specific to the Black Sea area. This year’s edition was dedicated to the theme called “Elements of Conflict – Vectors of Change in the Black Sea Region”.
The program is designed mainly for the public leadership segment, for personalities from the diplomatic and academic environment, for specialists in the intelligence services, ministries of defense or internal affairs of the member states of the Black Sea Region, as well as for their strategic partners.
SBSR sets as its main objective the exchange of innovative ideas and best practices in preventing and fighting against regional threats It also aims at identifying and promoting common opportunities and interests which are essential to the sustainable development of the Black Sea Region.
The event will be attended by more than 80 experts, lecturers and participants from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Canada, Germany, Georgia, Greece, Netherlands, Moldova, Romania, the USA, Turkey, Russia and Ukraine, alongside European Union and NATO high officials.
