Swearing-in ceremony of the first-year students at the “Mihai Viteazul” National Intelligence Academy

”I pledge my allegiance to my country, Romania!”

 

On September 30, 2016, first-year students of the “Mihai Viteazul” National Intelligence Academy delivered the sacred oath of allegiance to the country, the Constitution, the national laws and the military regulations. For these young people, the swearing-in ceremony represented a moment filled with the excitement that comes with every new beginning and the hope of reaching superior ideals, as well as a pledge to the values and aspirations of the Romanian people.

Representatives of the Romanian Intelligence Service leadership, partner institutions such as the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Penitentiary Administration and several Romanian Intelligence Service units attended the ceremony alongside invited guests of the young students.

While addressing the students, Brigadier General Adrian Ciocarlan, Deputy Director of the Romanian Intelligence Service, congratulated them for choosing to be educated and trained as intelligence officers within the “Mihai Viteazul” National Intelligence Academy and also urged them to put the skills they are to acquire to the country’ s service, so that ”patriotism, integrity and excellence represent constant values throughout this noble profession”.

Colonel Niculae Iancu, Rector of the “Mihai Viteazul” National Intelligence Academy, gave his assurances that the young students would receive ”full support from the academic community, in order to excel in their training, in the spirit of understanding the meaning of responsibility towards the public welfare”.

Last, but not least, the students’ families received congratulations for the education and support provided to the young people in their quest to embrace a military career.
