Graduation ceremony of the 2016 ”Carol I– 150” class at the “Mihai Viteazul” National Intelligence Academy
Today, July 28, 2016, the graduation festivities and the advancement ceremony of a new class of young officers were held at the “Mihai Viteazul” National Intelligence Academy.
The events were attended by representatives of the institutions from the national security system and from the civilian and military academic community, as well as by family members of the students, alongside the leadership of the Romanian Intelligence Service.
On this occasion, Mr. Eduard Hellvig, Director of the Romanian Intelligence Service, emphasized the force of the intelligence officer career calling and the importance of the contribution of all institutions within the national security system to the consolidation of the state and to the protection of the Constitution, which is the fundamental element of a democratic society. Mr. Eduard Hellvig also mentioned the necessity for the generations of young officers to help increase the prestige and performance of the institutions in the service of citizens.
Colonel Niculae Iancu, Rector of the “Mihai Viteazu”l National Intelligence Academy, encouraged the young graduates to act with responsibility, competence, dedication and devotion towards the Romanian country and its people within a complex operational context, enhanced by the transformations of the security environment. Also, on behalf of the whole academic community, he thanked both the partner institutions (the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Justice), and the leadership of the Romanian Intelligence Service for their constant and unconditional support in the implementation process of the quality and competiveness standards within the higher education system for intelligence and national security.
The Academy’s class of 2016 Academy bears the name of the Romanian king Carol I, celebrating 150 years since his ascension to the Romanian throne.
